I am writing you in hopes of attaining a job position with you. I have become aware that you have an IT position open and I am very interested in joining your team. I am currently attending Davenport University in Caro where I am working hard towards attaining a Bachelors Degree in Networking and Network Security. A position with your company would be a great learning experience for me and would help very much with my career goals.
I have been working towards these goals by working on friends and families computers. I enjoy the challenge of troubleshooting problems and have a knack for it. I have been picking up new skills from Davenport such as working with Server 2003, where I have learned how to create user accounts, set permissions, check logs (and what they mean), and am currently learning how to use DNS and DHCP. As a Security Major I understand the importance of strong passwords, protocols, and the use of anti-virus and spyware programs. I am also currently learning about System Analysis, topics such as making and reading flowcharts, understanding a business environment, and creating a feasibility study/system requirement documents. I have learned the important criteria in designing a Disaster Recovery plan and finally I have experience using Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
As for me on a personal level, I am a courteous and polite person and you will have a hard time finding someone who doesn’t like me. I feel my best attribute is that I am a quick learner. Every job I have had in life I have done very well at. Many times I was the one my employer offered extra hours to, as I was willing to put in the extra work to get a job done. If given the opportunity I will be willing to do the same for you. I believe in doing something right the first time and that it is best to be prepared and set up to do a job correctly and efficiently. I also feel I have excellent communication skills as my English and Presentation Techniques grades will show.
