| Description: | Who doesn't know what an iPhone is? |
My take: it lives up to the hype. The most intuitive mobile OS I've use so far for sure, gorgeous bright screen, WiFi, movies, fully functional browser... the list goes on. I wish it had 3G, though, and a way to search by name through your contacts list. If want to push the limits, try the Installer.app hack, and add a BSD subsystem, command prompt, all kinds of customizations, and a PHP/MySQL server, and a bunch of other cool stuff.
Ditto. Wifi works great, ATT's Edge Network is somewhat usable. Latest update stopped all the 3rd party installs but least apple states that they will be releasing the SDK and allowing 3rd party apps soon.
Speakerphone isn't that great and no media via text messages sucks but the bads are overshadowed by all the pluses of the phone.
This is definitely one of the device (if not the one) that revolutionize the mobile industry. It's very innovative and it really looks good.
Unfortunately, it doesn't have all the features techies would want. But it's still a great device for most of the mobile consumers.
The interface is beyond compare to anything I have had the chance to play with so far. But until they put in the ability to synch with exchange, its a no go. The imap for mail is nice, but I cannot live without the exchange synch.
I Love Apple and Can't Wait To Have One!
i want one.
I think it's Genius phone! Maybe camera are bed, maybe it is too big BUT it has All things you need from phone (portative computer?) - Very simple control, long work time, comfortable e-brouser, and finally -IPOD!
If you have one, nuff said, if not get it short and sweet.
I was looking for a PDA and my first take for on the Blackberry. But then came my "evil brother" Who already owned a 3G one...and men...I bought yesterday...I have to say it's a revolutionary phone. Videos and third parties applications, email and internet...yes...it lacks some features that other regular phone has. I do not know why Apple did not allow the iPhone to record video...but Im sure they will do it soon
I have been using the iPhone for over a year, and I could not imagine my life without it. I do not give it 5 stars because it is lacking some features...like video recording for example...
Well worth the money...in fact, after 6 months of owning one, I got one for my wife.
What a piece of convoluted content and functionality jail! aside from DRM and other crazy limitations, one has to pay AT&T to use it. Data plans are overpriced.
This product is really amazing. The possibilities are endless.
It has cutting edge technology.
I've used this phone for about 18 months now and have been quit pleased with it's evolution over that period of time. Internet, email, telecommunications, text messaging, gaming, text reader, music, audiobooks, camera, etc.; it's simply unbeatable!
I have never had such a phone. Anything you could possibly want in a phone, Apple has included. My only complaint is the lack of ability to text photos. I think Apple swung and missed on this one. I still could never give up my iPhone.
Because is a most device, that let you be connect anywhere and anytime
my first pda was the handspring visor (which i got close to a decade ago) when you had to plug in a "module" the size of an ipod nano in order to connect to wifi. my first cellphone was the brick phone. i loved the functionality of both. however, i had a dream of merging these to great devices into one. the treo was a good attempt. so was windows mobile (especially the HTC implementations). However, the iPhone takes the cake for this. Apple has answered my prayers. They have made my 20 year dream a reality. It is, by far, the most intuitive, most versatile, and the most valuable piece of equipment I have ever owned. It can pretty much do anything except cook food for you (well, maybe if you ran it into hyperdrive, the battery will be hot enough for cooking...anyway) I love the iPhone. I love it so much that the thought of buying a gPhone or a Blackberry Storm never crossed my mind. I am a gadget lover after all. I will buy the latest stuff just to play with it. There's no need for that anymore because I have found the perfect device for me...the iPhone.
I've had my share of the PDA's around the release of the first gen iPhone. I havn't found anything with its friendly interface. or the vast amount of programs your can find in the app store. of course its missing a few things but what phone isn't. it would have been nice to have a flash on the camera but for not having any light it picks up a lot when normal camera's would fail. The failure to have MMS picture messenging will come in the june or july release of the iPhone 3.0. witch i can't wait for. Over all i Recommend this phone or mini computer to anyone.
The UI and design are lightyears ahead of the competition.
Wide range of Apps, and ease of use make this by far the best pda style phone! The phone functions themselves are severely lacking- no native voice-dial, speakerphone is terrible, overall voice quality is poor. But it's still better than any other for overall functions than any I have tried.
Cutting edge technology, amazing UI, truly lives up to all the hype and just keeps getting better.
