try these check your power that connects to the Hard drive or check the Jumper settings if its configured properly
try to explain your problem in more details next time like for example was the hard drive in another computer or is it a new one etc. |

| Posted 6 months ago Well, when you push F1 it boots perfectly, then. The connections are fine and it happens sometimes to brand new computers. It happens on different models within warranty or without warranty. It is redondant with Dell products. |

| Posted 6 months ago Thanks a lot, one of the issue disappear on the 4300, I still don't know for the 745/755 620 280 I have seen at work. Yesterday, I basically ran a disk wipe out DOD (4 pass) and the issue was gone after 2 reinstall including two format NTFS. |

| Posted 6 months ago IF you are able get another harddrive and use it as your master and slave the hard drive thats causing your computer to hang and run a disk repair wizard this may also correct this. A good one is tuneup utilites 2007 good luck |

| Posted 6 months ago Once with a GX280, I had the same issue, (at least, the same error message), I took of the drive out of the box and plug it into an another GX280, and this drive was fine on the second GX280 without any error message.
On the Optiplex 745, the F1 error was fallowed by a blue screen once, you press enough time on F1 to make the PC boot. |

| Posted 6 months ago In the BIOS screen once in there, try resetting the BIOS to Optimized Defaults. See what that does if that doesn't work open the machine and pop out the CMOS batery for 10 minutes. Pop it back in and try again. Thats all I ever needed to fix an issue like that, besides setting the hard drive to Cable Select in the jumper settings. |

| Posted 6 months ago All what I get out of it, is the same issue since the bios don't recognize the Hard drive, master or slave, they don't show up in the Bios. |

| Posted 6 months ago I think the best is to call on the warranty when a F1 issue shows up, you never know what can happen :

| Posted 6 months ago I have to agree with Chrisdafrenchie - call Dell. They need to know when they send crap out their door! If you've got an Optiplex 745 and it's a business machine I bet it's still under warranty. Really though, it almost sounds like a cable is loose or something. Is it SATA or IDE? We use the SATA 745's at work and those cables are not always plugged in well by the factory. |

| Posted 6 months ago There are SATA's cables in the 745, that's all true. And I saw the same error message showing up when the boot sequence get delete, you know, when you unselect the number with the space bar in the Bios. I'm going to start an another topic about an uncommun issue about the GX620. |
