Corrupt file?
Posted 6 months ago When I'm trying to boot my Windows XP tower, I get a "<windows root> \system32\ hal.dll. Please re-install a copy of the above file." message. I've tried to boot in safe mode, last known config., nothing works. Can I use a recovery disc to solve this? What should I do?

| Posted 6 months ago I'll never understand why the repair that you pointed out is the one that's hidden on the disk, not the one that's right out front for you to try first. It is a much better repair option than the first repair which everyone knows wipes out all data that may be on your OS partition.
Great tip Iceman! |
